Finding the right music
We are going to look for artist that are unsigned with the websites below:
- mobygratis.com
- unsigned.com
- freesound.com
- jamendo.com
- ipo.gov.uk
If we use a copyright music then we are either going to contact the artist via twitter, Facebook or email.
We will have to explain ourselves and tell them that we are using our music video for our media project and ask them if we can use their music.
This is the letter I have produced to send to either unsigned or signed artists but in the letter I would include the music that i want to use which would be included in the letter.
Hey my name is Tania Begum from Robert Clack Sixth Form and was wondering if I can use your music to make a video for my Media project. This will not be used for any other project except for my media project. It will be nice to hear back from you as we are interested in you music.
Thank You
Tania Begum
Non- copyright music
Copyright is when people don"t have the rights to use other people's song without their permission as its illegal. If people do not abide by this rule then they can get fined by the artist. It is important because people have their own rights and so they have their own music people cannot just use their music without permission. This might be hard when we are producing our project because we cannot use copyright music unless we ask for their permission especially if it is a famous singer then it will be hard to get an email or tweet back from them. This means that we have to use an alternative by using non-copyright music or music which is unknown or unsigned artist. There are several websites we can do this from which can be mobygratis.com, non copyrights youtube, unsigned.com etc.
Favourite Music Video
My favourite music video is by Kevin Lyttle which is called 'Turn Me On'. I adore this music because I have heard this from a young age and my favourite genre is R&B, Hip hop and Reggie.
I also like this tune as the music of the video is more upbeat and the lyrics are catchy and makes you want to listen to it again. I also like the video as I think that the song merges in with the video. Back in the days Kevin Lyttle used to be popular but he has stopped making songs now but people still go back to listen to his old music as its upbeat. More of the video has lip synching but the rest is mostly dance.
The music video mostly shows us people dancing most probably in a club the lyrics tells us the story as you can also see in the video. the dancing in the video makes the video more upbeat as it includes quick dancing. You can see that in the video the women"s are reavling the body which links into the lyrics.

The Brief
My task is to produce a Music 'Promo' Video which will last up to 5 minutes. The members that I am working with is Rachel Brown, Kelsey Garett and Lucie Stevens. This year I have been asked to make a blog which includes a digipak for its releases on CD and a magazine advertisement for the digipak. At the end of this i have to produce a evaluation of the overall year and what we have used. We will have to make a music video where we use lip synching to make the music video.
